01 MASTERCLASS ON MAREVA INJUNCTIONS

Date: 12-2pm, Friday 5 February 2016

This Course will give you a detailed understanding of the law and practice relating to applications for Mareva Injunctions. The Course will be delivered partly in lecture format and partly as an interactive workshop during which you will be given the opportunity to present a mock application for a Mareva Injunction.

During the Course, you will be given detailed practical guidance on the law and practice governing applications for Mareva injunctions. We will discuss the obligations owed to the Court by applicants for ex parte injunctions and will consider the consequences of a breach of those obligations. We will also consider the steps that a respondent to a Mareva injunction may take in order to have the injunction discharged.

02 INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LITIGATION

Date: 12-2pm, Friday 12 February 2016

This Course will give you a detailed understanding of Intellectual Property Litigation.

During the Course, we will present a lecture on Intellectual Property Litigation in Hong Kong. We will consider in particular the conduct trials in Intellectual Property cases. We will then look at the post-trial steps that need to be taken in order to enforce a judgment effectively.

There will be a Q&A Session in which you will be given an opportunity to ask questions in relation to the themes in which have been considered during the seminar.

03 PREPARING AND PRESENTING CRIMINAL CASES 

Date: 12-2pm, Friday 19 February 2016

This presentation is designed to give a detailed and practical overview of the criminal trial process. In the context of a trial, we will examine what the advocate should do, how he should do it and why he should it.

Participants will be supplied with two case scenarios designed to facilitate a discussion of many aspects of the trial process in a factual context. The materials supplied will serve as a useful aide-memoire for both experienced advocates and those wanting to become more involved in criminal advocacy.

04 GOOD TITLE – DEFECTIVE TITLE

Date: 12-2pm, Friday 26 February 2016

The Course will give those attending a detailed Lecture of Good Title-Defective Title.

The Course is an intermediate and advanced level course aimed at practitioners with prior experience of the subject.

The Course will be delivered in lecture format.
